LISLE, Ill. October 13, 2009 — Molex Incorporated (NASDAQ: MOLX and MOLXA) announced today that Mike Picini, vice president, Molex Solid State Lighting (SSL), will discuss the company's strategy for driving more widespread adoption of LED technology at two upcoming industry events. Picini will provide the keynote address, "An Outsiders Perspective," at ArchLED'09 on Tuesday, October 13 in Chicago. At the LEDs2009 conference in San Diego on Thursday, October 22 he will discuss methods for efficiently integrating LEDs.
"Both presentations will highlight how we were able to draw on Molex's core businesses — connectors and electronics — to address the problem of integration, one of the largest barriers to widespread LED adoption," said Picini. "Our goal is to provide a standard interface so that lighting designers, fixture manufacturers, LED manufacturers and individual customers can cost-effectively, reliably and easily implement a full SSL solution."
Both presentations will provide Picini's viewpoint on the current state of the SSL market and its future outlook. Included in the discussions will be a look at Molex's groundbreaking work on a new series of modular LED products designed to integrate the complex elements of different LED devices to a standard interface.
